| Surrendering a Boxer |

| Each dog will be accepted on a case by case basis. BHBR foster homes will not have more than one dog training for the dog. Shelter dogs have number one priority. If, BHBR has space for an owner surrender, the dog must be spayed/neutered and vaccinated before acceptance. The animal must also pass a temperament evaluation. Exceptions on spay/neuter will be made on occasion. If it is a financial hardship, we can secure free or low-cost spay/neuters for the surrendering party. BHBR prefers to help owners find a way to KEEP their dog. Group volunteers will come to your home and try to help work through any issues where an owner believes they must re-home their dog. For people moving, visit our page on securing a pet friendly home in the place you are moving to. If there are obedience issues, BHBR will be happy to assess and advise. Shelters call 605-391-4206. This number is for SHELTERS ONLY. Everyone else must e-mail: bhboxerrescue@aol.com |
