Black Hills
Boxer Rescue
Past Events
Over the years we have had several
boxer play dates, community
education events and a couple of
fund raisers.  We've always had a
great time meeting new people and
their boxers.  It has been our way
of gaining many new volunteers
and friends.  We will post pictures
and a little information about some
of our events.
2009 2nd annual Black Hills Boxer Rescue
Yard Sale and Fund Raiser
We were certainly overwhelmed by the outpouring of support this
year.  We had over 17, 6 to 8 foot tables filled with items, four huge
hanging clothing racks, and a garage with shelving filled to the brim.
We poured out all the way down the drive and into the yard.  It was
amazing.

We also had our Boxer Kissing Booth. It has become a staple at our
events. The boxers love it, the people love it and it helps to bring in a
lot of money.  Who wouldn't want to smooch a boxer for a dollar???

We had a specialty table of top of the line boxer and pet items, we
also had some wonderful baked goods.  Our sale had everything you
could think of and more. It was amazing when we looked upon all we
had.

Of course, then you have the clean up and left overs.  This year we
decided to start an account at Pac Rat Palace to bring the left over
items and still continue to raise money throughout the year to help
with our veterinary costs.  Anyone can donate items to our account if
they would like to.  We do plan on having a yard sale every year, so
we'll be rounding up donations again starting in the spring.  Thank
you to everyone that made this happen.  We've had a tough year with
veterinary and food bills, so this was such a blessing.
Mr Chills has spotted the
treat box!  Should he try to
reach one??? Hmmm, such
a dilemma.

The days leading up to the sale were filled with tons of hard work and sore
backs, but the days of the sale were nothing but laughter and fun.  We raised
a lot of money towards our veterinary and food bills and a lot of area
residents got to learn about our organization.  We hope to see them next year.
2008 1st annual Black Hills Boxer Rescue
Yard Sale and Fund Raiser
In August of 2008, one of our recently adopted boxers
developed the rarest form of Pneumonia that any living being
pulled out all the stops in trying to diagnose and treat Brie's
problems.  Unfortunately, the day her diagnosis came in, she
passed away.  Here was her family with empty arms and a
HUGE veterinary bill.

Our organization decided to have them transfer Brie's
medical records to our account and let them have any boxer
of their choice without an adopt fee, when they felt ready to
open their heart again.

Because of this large bill, we felt we needed to do something
fast to raise some money.  We all pulled together as a group
and put together a yard sale.  We had a ton of stuff, but the
weather didn't cooperate and we were up against the largest
yard sale in the city going on the same weekend.  We had a
ton of volunteers, many boxers came to visit and the kissing
booth, once again, brought in a lot of dollars!!!!! :o)  It turned
out to be a great sale, and it was the beginning of our annual
sales.
Wanna Kiss?

his mom do some shopping!!
Truman made sure everyone got their money's worth!!  He kissed up one side and down the
other of every face that came near him.  With one little girl, his head is bigger than hers, and
yet, Truman is the sweetest boy on the planet.  He tends to take the hide right off of you with
his kisses, but that means he LOVES you THAT much!!.  This bottom picture his Tru at the end
of the day.  He worked very hard!!
