Bonez is a six year old classic fawn male with natural ears and a cropped tail.  He
has lived with cats, dogs, livestock and children of various ages.  He was recently
re-homed, then was put in the shelter. The stress of the shelter proved to be too
much for Bonez. He lost a considerable amount of weight. The pictures don't
adequately show how thin he really is.  His appetite is good, he's playful, sweet and
appears healthy in all ways.  We will do a blood panel before he is neutered just to
make sure all is well.  He is going to be a very petite little guy even when he is
filled out.  He loves to hang out and watch tv or play with the other dogs.  He's not
fond of being out in the cold, so you have to watch to make sure he gets his
business done.  He is kennel trained, although he's not crazy about it.

During his assessment at the shelter it was observed that Bonez paid no attention
to rabbits running by while he was on a leash.  When walking through the shelter,
he did not respond to the dogs that were barking or attacking their kennels doors,
he just trotted on by.  He was easy to handle on a leash and a very well behaved
boy.

Older boxers are much more laid back and easy to handle. As small as this little
fellow is, he'll be an easy addition.  Bonez should never have to lose another home.
He deserves to live out his days in a home that loves him.  If you are that home,
please fill out an
application.

Update 12/16/11:  Bonez is starting to fill out. He should be ready for his neuter
surgery right after Christmas!

Update 12/31/11:  We have posted the latest pictures of Bonez.  He has put on
weight and is ready for surgery.  We'll update this post surgery.  He looks GREAT
and he is sooooo sweet.  Content to curl up in a little ball and hang out with you!!
He's been great alone in the house too.  He's a happy fellow so it's hard to get a
shot without him in motion. :o)

UPDATE 1/16/12:  Bonez is has been neutered, and had the rest of his vetting done.
He will be recuperating this week, then he is ready for a family of his own.  This
sweet boy is so submissive to other dogs, very gentle an sweet with kids of all
ages, yet frisky and playful if you're ready.  He has stolen our hearts.  He does not
like to be kenneled or alone for long days at a time.  Because of this, we would like
to find a home where someone works from home or someone is home quite a bit.
He gets along with male or female dogs and has not been tested on cats.  If an
applicant has cats, we will test him.  He is content to snuggle and cuddle as much
as you want, then he'll turn on his side and paw at you with the cutest little
expressions.  He is so handsome now that he's filled out an healthy.  He has a very
shiny coat and good healthy appetite.  We even had to loosen his collar several
spots. :o)  He's filled out, but still a little fellow.  He deserves a family that will love
and adore him.  I can't imagine anyone dumping him at a high kill shelter. He's too
sweet or that. Plus, he has excellent house manners. Because of Bonez's age, we
ask an adoption donation of $175.00 to help with some of his expenses.  He is
heartworm negative, neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and on
heartworm preventative.  Plus, we feed a highly quality food and treats.

UPDATE 3/3/12: We've updated Bonez's bio with his latest pictures. He has turned
into one handsome boxer boy!!  Unfortunately it is too late to adopt him.  His foster
family has fallen in love with this wonderful boy and is adopting him.  Bonez has
turned out to be one great dog!! :o)
