About Black Hills Boxer Rescue

Black Hills Boxer Rescue, or BHBR, is an all-volunteer Boxer  rescue organization dedicated to protection and preservation of  the Boxer breed. BHBR is a series of foster homes throughout the  Black Hills region and State of South Dakota. Volunteers open  their homes and hearts to these neglected, forgotten souls; foster  families are continually rewarded in countless ways as  the dogs  come into the homes and live with families.

All BHBR dogs are either spayed or neutered before they are available for adoption. This practice allows BHBR to help stop the over-breeding of boxers. There are THOUSANDS of homeless  boxers throughout the US and rescues and shelters are overflowing, unable to keep up with the numbers.

Where Do They Come From?
BHBR dogs hail from shelters, which have tried to place them and run out of time, or there are significant health issues. Abused Boxers, currently in shelters, are also taken in.  BHBR also takes in Boxers from owners, who through no fault of their own, can no longer keep their dog.  BHBR is NOT a depository for those that don’t want to invest time into their pets.

All proceeds from BHBR adoptions, goes directly to veterinary fees.  If you are interested in adopting, please read our adoption requirements and fill out an application.   At this time, BHBR  representatives correspond via e-mail only until an adoption approval has been gained.
