Pet Celebrities!

Posted in BHBR, News at 7:39 pm by Administrator

Cameras flashed away as the Black Hill’s newest celebrities strutted their stuff on June 12 at the Rushmore Mall to standing room only crowd. Who made this grand red carpet entrance you ask? Well grab your popcorn, soda and snacks and meet two of South Dakota’s newest Pet Celebrities!

Both Pork Chop, who was crowed the Black Hills Pet Celebrity, and Truman (who finished a very respectable 4th) are BHBR success stories! Both “celebrities” now make their homes in the Rapid City area. Black Hills residents should be on the look out for Pork and Tru next time they’re and about walking the area, as both have been know to cruise the streets of Rapid enjoying the sun with their owners.

Both Pork Chop and Truman were accompanied in high style by their humans and had no trouble showing just why they are pet celebrities! They loved every minute of being on the stage!

BHBR sends a huge “Thank You” to everyone who voted for Pork Chop and Truman; due to the support of the local community, an impressive $600 and prize winnings were donated by both Pork and Tru’s owners ! BHBR volunteers are truly overwhelmed by this generosity!  BHBR would be remiss if a special thank you to Pork Chops’ mom and dad – Adam and Lindsey Bauerle – and Truman’s family – Hayley, Adam, and his baby, Eliot –didn’t go out to them!

O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?

Posted in Uncategorized at 9:40 pm by Administrator

As the mighty Shakespeare wrote, “O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?” Well, he’s arrived and in Rapid City, South Dakota!

BHBR would like to introduce you to our newest arrival! Romeo is a young, deaf brindle and white male boxer/English bulldog mix. He just arrived into South Dakota and is currently undergoing evaluation. BHBR has him set up in a foster home and are learning all about his personality. The volunteers with BHBR are also working to teach him a variety of hand signals and basic obedience training.

Watch for updates on his profile, which can be found online at www.blackhillsboxerrescue.org. Potential adopters must note that  BHBR will only place Romeo in a home that has “Bully Breed” experience!!
