UPDATE 1-15-10: Sophie's last xrays showed no change.  She has doubled her weight, is
continuing to use her leg without pain, so Dr. Falcon said that she can be adopted.  She will develop
arthritis in that joint eventually, but there is nothing surgically they can do to make it better.  Since it
is not getting worse, they do not want to amputate.  She will not be a jogging dog, but she will limit
herself on what she can and can not do. She can live a normal life, just not excess exercising.  She's
very playful with the bigger dogs.  She is learning potty training and crate training and doing very
well.  She is ready for her forever home.  If you are interested please apply.  Her adoption donation
will be $275.00

UPDATE 1-1-10:  Sophie weighed in at 8.1 pounds two weeks ago at her vet visit.  They did extra
views of her elbow in xray and discovered she has a congenital deformity of the Humeral Condyle.
It's missing.  There is also evidence of a slight fracture at one time too.  The leg is also smaller than
the other one now.  We are to go to the vet every two to three weeks for xrays until a decision has
been made.  We happened to have one of our leading Canine Ortho Surgeons at the clinic at the
time, so he reviewed the xrays too.  They have forwarded them to the Vet National Network to get
feed back from other experts.  There was some sign of bone regrowth, so that is what we're hoping
because possibly there will be something to pin in the future. Right now the joint is displaced.  She
does not act as if she is in any pain. She continues to use the leg and there is no infection, so we will
continue with the course of action unless she should start to show signs of pain.  This will obviously
be very expensive. If anyone would like to donate in Sophie's name, the contact info for the vets is at
the bottom of the page. Thank you so much!!!.

Sophia is a nine week old flashy fawn female with natural ears and a cropped tail.  She has a very
bad injury or degenerative disease in her right front elbow joint.  It is going to take a very expensive
surgery to try to save the leg, and she may still lose it.  We plan to give her every chance possible to
save her little leg. She is a beautiful little girl with a darling, spunky personality.  She's very intelligent
and already knows "go potty" and will do her business outside every time as long as you keep an
eye on her. She shows you the signs.  She will not be available for adoption until all of her medical
needs are taken care of.  If you are interested in donating towards her care, you can send something
directly to the vet clinic in her name or you can use Paypal.  The information is at the bottom of this
page.

ON HOLD!UPDATE 1-1-10:  Angel was spayed and chipped on Wednesday.  She did very well with
the surgery and is recovering nicely in her foster home.  Angel has picked up the schedule quite
well of going potty at certain times, and she's now sleeping through the night in her kennel. That is
a big step in puppyhood!! :o)  Angel is just a darling. She's quite active and will continue to be so for
quite some time.  That is part of being a boxer.  We are continuing to accept applications on her, but
keep in mind, these puppies will require A LOT of work!!  They bare chewing, pooping and peeing
machines until they finally understand where it's all appropriately done.  You need a ton of patience
and love.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Angel is a 12 week old classic brindle female with natural ears and a cropped tail.  She was a
Christmas present that was not appreciated.  Angel is a beautiful little puppy, very intelligent and is
learning quickly.  We are working on potty training, crate training and basic commands.  She is very
social with other dogs, but this is her crucial socialization time, so she must be exposed to as much
as possible.  She will be spayed this week and will be available for adoption as soon as she heals
from her surgery.  Angel has no known health issues, just a pup that shouldn't have been put under
the Christmas tree!!  Angel's adopt donation will be $275.00.  Please read our adoption requirements
before filling out an application!!

This adoption will REQUIRE that you take Angel through a round of group obedience.  You must
also be available to let her out to potty throughout the day.  Puppies are a lot of work, so think it
through.  Adult dogs can be a lot easier if you don't have time for all the training a puppy needs.
Max
Olde English Bulldogge
PENDING ADOPTION!! Max is a handsome red and white two year old Olde English Bulldogge.
Please read up on this breed to educate yourself on it.  They are the original English Bulldogs and
are regaining popularity because they do not have the breathing issues of todays Bulldogs.

Max is a great family dog. He does require strong leadership, as all bully's do!! We will require that
he is taken through a group obedience class with his new family.  He is house trained, crate
trained, doesn't do too bad on a leash, but needs a more work with obedience.  He's lived with
cats, but we will not place him in a home with cats.  He wants to chase too much.

This is a great dog!! We are looking for his FOREVER FAMILY.  People with bully experience will be
considered first for adopting this big fellow.  Max weighs in at 110 pounds.  He's short and stout,
so he doesn't appear that big, but he is.

He's lived in a home with a small child that gently fed him crackers through the baby gate.  We
would prefer older children, just because of his size.  We'll consider the right home to have bully
experience and a dedication to training!!!

Max's adoption donation will be $275.00
ADOPTION PENDING! Sierra is a gorgeous young classic fawn female with natural ears and a
cropped tail.  She came to us with a tail, so we docked it when we had her spayed.  She is a very
pretty color of red that is very striking.  Sierra does have a longer muzzle than some boxers. We're
seeing a lot of that with breeders in the area.  The benefit is that the dogs do not suffer as much
from an inability to breathe, especially in the summer.  She would make a great jogging or hiking
partner.
Jaiden
Jaiden is a six year old "hearing" white female with pretty markings on her ears and head.  Jaiden
is house trained, has been through formal obedience training and has lived with the same family
her whole life.  She's lost her family due to NO fault of her own.

Right now she is fostering with an adult male boxer and an adult female pug/terrier mix.  She
seems to have adjusted right away and hasn't shown any problems.  We'll update on how she is
on a walk.  She met a husky pup today and was really good with him.  She does seem overly
interested in cats.  She'd need someone that knows how to work with dogs and cats to make sure
the cats are always safe.  We'd prefer she doesn't go to a home with cats.  Jaiden has lived with
children and has loved them.

She's very thin right now, so we're working on putting some weight on her first and foremost.  I'll
update her bio with more information as she spends time in her foster home.  She is spayed and
up to date on vaccinations.  Jaiden's adopt donation will be 175.00
Gunner in Montana
Jade is a five year old classic fawn female with natural ears and a cropped tail.  She is a
beautiful girl that gets along well with other male boxers, lives nicely with cats and has spent a
great deal of time living around horses.  She's a little shy when she first meets you, but will
warm up quickly.  She has had some issues with the older female boxer in the house and that
is why she has to be re-homed.  She will not be placed with another female dog because of
this.

Jade does well with children and has lived with older children.  Jade has a really good
temperament, the dog issue is something that is very common amongst female boxers, so it's
not unusual at all.  We'll be taking Jade in for a complete check up, heartworm tested, put on
heartworm preventative and working on her leash training.  She has had very little time on a
leash, so we'll work on that while she's with us.  Jade's adoption donation will be $
175.00.
Please fill out an application if you are interested. She will not be available for a little while, but
you can go through the approval process while she's getting ready for her Forever Home.
Sophia
This is a courtesy listing for the Heart of the Valley Shelter in Bozeman, MT.  Gunner is a two
year old classic fawn male with natural ears and a cropped tail. He is neutered, microchipped
and vaccinated.  He is also house trained.

Gunner does not do well with other dogs. He would need some intensive socialization to make
it work. His prey drive it too high for cats.  He's also too large for a home with small children.
As an only dog, with older children, he would be great.

Gunner is declining the longer he is in the shelter. He has lost ten pounds and is exhibiting
classic stress related behavior.  If you live in Montana and would like to adopt a boxer, please
check this gorgeous boy out.  We don't have room right now for him, so his options are
limited.  If you are interested in Gunner please call The Heart of the Valley Shelter at:

ADOPTION PENDING! Deuce is a two year old brindle boy with natural ears and a cropped tail.
He's tall, muscular and well built for a young male.  He adores boxing with other boxers and
would like another one in his new home. He listens when he's to calm down with the humans.
Appears to be house trained, but could use some leash work.  He is a sweetheart and really a
nice boy.  Just needs some tweaks with commands. He is a breathtakingly gorgeous boxer!!!
He's gentle in play when he needs to be too.

Deuce was in a home with Bones prior to coming into rescue.  They lived with an owner that
killed himself while the dogs were in the house and with him until he was discovered.  Bones and
Deuce appeared to be very bonded to each other, but now that they've had time to settle into a
foster home, they don't seem interested in each other at all. .  Deuce's adopt fee will be $250.00

Tallulah
Tallulah is about 20 weeks old, she is a deaf white boxer with one blue eye and one
brown. Just adorable. She's very smart, she has learned many signs for commands
already, with the predominate training going into the "go potty" command.  She's gets
along very well with other dogs, is living with a cat right now and is the sweetest little
girl. She's doing great with all of her training!!

She was spayed last week, has had all vaccinations including rabies, worming and
microchip.  She is ready for her FOREVER HOME.  Please do not be afraid of her
deafness. Check out deafdogs.org and read up on them. They are so easy to care for.
We do require a "hearing" dog in the house and a fenced yard.

If interested in Tallulah, please fill out an application.  Her adoption donation will be
$275.00.
Mercedes is a young adult flashy fawn female with natural ears and a cropped tail.
She is a typical sweet boxer girl that is eager to give all her love to whomever will
return this gift.  She came into the shelter with Brando, so it appears they were a
breeding pair no longer wanted. :o( Mercedes has had a litter recently that she is
getting back in shape from.

Mercedes is house trained, kennel trained, obedient, needs some leash work but
isn't crazy with pulling.  She'll need to be tested with cats. She is the more out
going of the two boxers.  She will need to be spayed, heartworm tested and gone
through our assessment period before she'll be ready for adoption.  BUT, if you are
interested in Sadie, please fill out an application and get the approval process out
of the way. :o)
Mercedes' adoption donation is $275.00
Brando
Brando is a young adult brindle male with natural ears, cropped tail and some
beautiful white markings.  He did come in with Mercedes from a shelter situation. He
is a very friendly boy.  He is shyer than she is, which can be typical of boy/girl boxer
pairs. Just depends on the pair.  Brando needs to put on some weight, poor boy!!  He
also needs neutered, heartworm tested and must finish our assessment period
before he is available. He must be tested with cats, and children before we can list
him as available to homes with either.

Brando needs work on house training, is kennel trained, but does pull on the leash
some.  He will do the typical boxer jump up on people, be he is not obnoxious about
it like some boxers.  He just needs to know who is people are that LOVE HIM FOR
LIFE and he will love them back and do as they ask.  Boxers strive to please their
owners and bond quickly.  Brando listens very well and is happiest curled up in your
lap. He's not a very big boy.

If you are interested in Brando you should fill out an application now and get a jump
on the approval process!!
Brando's adoption donation will be $275.00
Bozsworth "Boz"
Boz is a two year old "cheque" marked male.  He has natural ears and a cropped tail.  His markings
are pretty unusual.  He has more white than a flashy fawn boxer would normally have, but he is not
considered a white boxer or a fawn.  He is a very handsome dog.  He lost weight while in the shelter,
and is slowly getting to where he's eating well for us in rescue.  He needs to put on more weight.  He
is house trained, learning kennel training and needs work on the leash.  He's great with kids, we're
still testing with other dogs and cats.  He listens VERY well.  He's been on the loose a couple times
in the past few months, so I wonder if he can jump an average fence.  He may need a six foot fence
or just supervision when he's outside.  So far, he's made no attempts to jump my fence.

We learned the bad news after Boz's neuter surgery that he has on a scale of 4, a grade 2.5 heart
murmur.  He could go on to live many years and never have a problem.  Or, he could have problems
in his early years, there is no way to predict the future for this boy.  Heart issues are a common
problem with our beloved breed and the only way to eradicate it is through REPUTABLE
BREEDING!!  If you buy a pup and it's parents have not been on a halter monitor and tested, you are
not going through a reputable breeder.  My heart goes out to this dog. He is perfect in every way.  He
is fun to play with, he listens well, he's gorgeous, we just don't know his future.  If you're interested
in Boz, you might want to familiarize yourself with heart murmurs in canines or talk to your vet.

Boz's adoption donation will be something you can discuss.  If you're interested please fill out an
application.
Diva
Diva is a two and a half year old classic fawn female with natural ears and a cropped tail.  She is a
large boxer girl.  She is house trained, crate trained, walks well on a leash and listens very well to
commands.  She's been very playful with the other dogs in the house, BUT if you allow your dogs
on the furniture and she's up there, she'll growl at the other dogs. When left to just play, she plays
very well with them.  I would not put her in a home with small dogs or cats.  She needs strong
ownership, as she is a dominant female.  If she's an only dog, she'll be a perfect dog.

Diva is a funny girl that will turn herself inside out to get your attention.  She loves people, she loves
children and she just wants to be with you .  She just needs to know that you are in charge so she
doesn't have the stress of feeling like she has to watch out for you.

Diva's adoption donation will be $250.00.  If you are interested in Diva, please fill out an application.
