ON HOLD!!Jade is a beautiful girl that gets along well with other male boxers, lives nicely with
cats and has spent a great deal of time living around horses. She's a little shy when she first
meets you, but will warm up quickly. She has had some issues with the older female boxer in
the house and that is why Jade is a six year old classic fawn female with natural ears and a
cropped tail. She is !she has to be re-homed. She will not be placed with another female dog
because of this.
Jade does well with children and has lived with older children. Jade has a really good
temperament, the dog issue is something that is very common amongst female boxers, so it's
not unusual at all. We'll be taking Jade in for a complete check up, heartworm tested, put on
heartworm preventative and working on her leash training. She has had very little time on a
leash, so we'll work on that while she's with us. Jade's adoption donation will be $175.00.
Please fill out an application if you are interested. She will not be available for a little while, but
you can go through the approval process while she's getting ready for her Forever Home.

FOSTER HOMES ALWAYS NEEDED!!!! If you are interested in
opening your home to a boxer in need, please contact us. It does
require knowledge of canine behavior and basic training skills. Our
foster homes ready our boxers for their forever homes. It is the
most important part of our organization. With every open foster
home we can accept another boxer into our program.
We are now accepting donations of items for our 3rd Annual Yard
Sale Fund Raiser. It is the main fund raiser we do. We are in
desperate need of monetary donations to help offset our vet bills.
If you would like to donate on behalf of a certain dog or just to help
with any dog our vet address is listed below. Thank you so much!

Lexi
Louie is a one year old flashy fawn male with natural ears and a cropped tail. He's a
big, seventy pound, muscular boxer that is so handsome, everyone that sees him
must come pet him.
Louie lost his owner because of a devastating illness. He went through a very
traumatic experience before coming to the shelter and it took a couple days for him
to trust. He is now a typical wigglebutt boxer that is eager to meet everyone that
oohs and aahs over him. I believe he is still mourning his owner and will take some
time to really see the complete boxer within.
At this point we don't know what he knows. We'll be assessing him for house
training, crate training, and obedience. He's quite easy to handle on the leash. We
do not know if he's been around other dogs or cats. Nor do we know how he is with
children. We'll update his bio with information as he spends time in rescue. He will
have surgery 7/20 and will then begin his assessment time.
If you are interested in helping this handsome boy love a new family, please fill out
an application. Don't think he's a droopy, sad boy, because that is not Louie. He
give tentative wiggles at first, then as he knows he doesn't have to be scared, you
get the full wiggle butt. :o) Louie's adopt donation will be $275.00
Ruby
NOTE!!!! Ruby arrives in Rapid City, 7/10/10. We will update her bio and pictures!!
Ruby is a young classic fawn female with natural ears and a cropped tail. She is a very well
behaved young boxer that is house trained and crate trained. She is very loving to all humans,
but tends to become jealous of other dogs in the house. She will most likely have to be an only
dog because of this. Obedience training would work in a case like this, if you chose to continue
on past the basic class. We will only adopt her out as an only dog.
Ruby would love to spend as much time with her humans as possible. She is fine with children
and would love to romp and play. Currently Ruby is in Montana and will be coming to Rapid
City. She is available for adoption now. If you are in Montana and would like to meet her before
she begins her trip here, send an email. Please fill out an application first.
Ruby is spayed and up to do date on all vaccinations and heartworm preventative. If you are
interested in Ruby, please fill out an application. Her adoption donation will be $275.00
Lady
PENDING!!UPDATE 7/10/10: Lady is still doing very well in her foster home. We are planning to
move her to Rapid City by the middle of July so it is easier for people to meet her. Lady is one of
these dogs that are really easy to have around. She adores children and is very good with them,
and she can live very well with cats. That's really unusual. However, she does not want to share
her family with other dogs. We are going to start socializing her with some of the male boxers to
see how she does. Currently, she pays no mind to the other dogs. The only time she got in a
skirmish was during a thunderstorm, so we think that is one of her triggers. She gets stressed, then
lashed out at one of the dogs in her foster home. She is not a dangerous dog, she just your typical
female boxer. She wants her people for herself and she doesn't want to share them. Although, she
goes on walks with the other dogs, and is around them without a problem, just every now and then
she gets worked up during a storm. Because of this, we'd like to find her a home where she could
be the only dog. We will continue to work on her skills with males. She may be just fine with a
boxer male. If you're looking for an easy going boxer girl with a lot of personality, this is your girl.
She'll walk nicely for you on a leash and will wiggle her rear for treats. She's a very sweet girl and
she really needs to find her Forever Home.
-------------end of update--------------
UPDATE 5/6/10: Lady will not be placed in a home with other female dogs. She can live with males,
but is too dominant for females. This is typical of boxers.
-------end update-------
Lady is a five year old flashy fawn female with natural ears and a cropped tail. She's larger female
and so gorgeous!!! She has wiggled butted her way into her foster family's hearts!!
Lady is currently fostering in Wyoming, near Buffalo. Her foster mom has indicated that she is a
very friendly girl. Good with kids, and has been fine with her female boxer, female bulldog and the
indoor cat. This is all pretty remarkable for a boxer!! As you can see in the picture with the small
child, she has wrapped herself around him. :o) She loves the kids and is good with them. Lady is
house trained and does well on the leash. She is obedient to her foster mom and is an all around
friendly girl.
Her vet check indicated that she is in good health, just needs to put on a little weight. She is spayed,
vaccinated, wormed, chipped etc. This girl needs a family that is going to devote themselves to her
for the rest of her life. She came from a kill shelter and we're going to make sure that she never
endures that again!! If you are interested in Lady, please submit an application. Her adoption
donation will be $200.00. We'll arrange visitation based upon where you live.

Riley
UPDATE 6-9-10: Riley is your typical young boxer boy. He is eager to be with his humans and that
is what makes him happiest. He walks so beautifully on a leash, you could use thread. He is in a
perfect heel, with a loose leash at all times, looking up to see what command you will give him next.
Boxers are typically strong pullers on a leash, so that is what I expected from him. What a nice
surprise. On our last walk we went to meet a cat to see how he would react. He was interested, not
overly so, but interested. It was easy to divert his attention to something else. He gave the toddler
in the home a couple of slurps and he was ready for his walk. He was really good meeting this
family for the first time. He is a spazz at times when playing, so I don't think a home with small
children is a good idea. He gets along best with dogs that have calm energy. He was pals with
several of the dogs that have come through rescue since his arrival. Currently, Mercedes is his pal.
Riley is an adorable young boy that really needs a forever home. Please read our requirements
and then fill out an application if you are interested.
Riley is a younger classic brindle male with natural ears and a cropped tail. He is on the small side
for a male boxer, but is big on showing his sweet side. He has the CUTEST face!! He's very friendly
and playful, prone to knock you over. He listens well and knows basic commands. He is house
trained, kennel trained, and good on the leash. He loves children!! He's very good in the car and
likes to go for rides.
Riley is getting neutered today, and will be available for adoption after he has recovered from
surgery. He was a Cryptorchid, so the surgery was considerably more involved. He still has some
swelling from the second incision. He would be a great boxer for someone adopting a boxer for the
first time. He's good with other dogs, but has not been tested with cats yet. If you are interested in
Riley and you have cats, we will test him. Riley's adoption donation will be $275.00. If you're
interested in adopting, please submit an application.

UPDATE: 6/9/10 She is making progress!!! Growing Hair!! She still has a long way to go, but you can see
the huge difference!!! :o)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gypsy is a one year old classic fawn female with natural ears and a cropped tail. She has been
diagnosed with Demodectic Mange and is currently under treatment. The shelter she came from has
worked very hard to get Gypsy on the road to recovery. We are going to continue working just as hard
to overcome this issue. Demodex is a common form of mange that we see in dogs. It is an immune
system problem that is passed on from a carrier, the mother. It is not contagious!! The mother may not
show signs of the disease, but her offspring will present with it. All involved need to be spay/neutered
in order to prevent passing this congenital problem on. If your puppy presents with it, you must inform
the breeder so they will do the right thing and pull that dog from their breeding program. This is a
treatable disease. At one time most dogs were euthanized because it was difficult to treat. Modern
medicine has developed medications that can be used to kill the mites, medicated shampoos and
antibiotics work on the skin infection and good food, supplements and love all work together to
eradicate it. We've had several boxers over the years that have come in with Demodex. They have all
been successfully treated and none have had a recurrence. We believe the same will happen for Gypsy.
As you can see from her pictures she has a tooth that sticks out and her tongue will sometimes pop out.
I think it is endearing. We'll have the vet investigate it further to make sure there isn't a problem with
the jaw. Even if there is, the worst of it is that she's a little sloppy when she drinks water. She is a
sweet, lovable little wiggle butt girl. Another itty bitty boxer girl. She's very smart and is learning things
quickly. She doesn't appear to have been potty trained, so we'll work on that while we get her back in
good health. You can visit this space for updates as she progresses through her treatment. She will
not be available for adoption until she has a clean bill of health. Anyone that has questions about Gypsy
or the disease, can feel free to contact us.
ADOPTED: Ricci is a young classic fawn female with beautifully cropped ears
and a cropped tail. She is coming from Montana within a week. We will update
this area with new pictures and information after her arrival. We do know that
she loves people, she has been fine with the dogs and cats that she has met at
the boarding facility. She is house and kennel trained. You can fill out an
application and get your adoption approval prior to choosing a dog. It's really
the best way to do it. That way you're first in line for the dog you are interested
in.
Romeo

Romeo is a young deaf brindle and white male boxer/english bulldog mix. This breed is known as
a Valley Bulldog. They originated in Nova Scotia in the 1900's. He is about the size of a small so
incredibly agile that he can leap to the sofa from across the room. If I'm seated on the floor he can
sail right over my head. If anyone is looking for a great agility dog, this is your man.
His problem is his tendency to over focus on moving lights. I don't know if someone used a
flashlight or laser light to play with him and he got hooked on it, or what happened. If he sees
flashing lights he will jump and bite at them in an attempt to catch whatever it is. The problem with
this is that a small child could walk up behind the deaf dog and reach in front of his mouth just as
he bites at the air. We are working at redirecting his interest the minute he starts to become
interested in chasing shadows and lights around the house. He's very easily redirected with a
treat or a toy. He loves to play chase with a toy. He's very affectionate and is the cutest little guy
I've ever seen!!! I will update his pictures soon. He is house trained, crate trained and pulls on a
leash like a sled dog. He does know some signs/commands. An obedience class will help in this
area. We will be trying a Halti with him to see if he walks better with a head halter. He LOVES to go
for a jog. Typically a bully is not good at this because of how their faces are built. Romeo had his
nares opened up, so he can breathe freely. This allows him to keep up with the best of them. You
must still watch for signs of getting too hot. You must not run or even go for a strenuous walk on
a hot day. Early mornings and evenings are the time for these dogs to get their exercise. He is
truly one of the most charming dogs I have ever met. He will make you laugh EVERY DAY of his
life.
We will require that anyone that adopts him must have Bully experience, no small children and as
much as he loves to play with other dogs, we may have to require no other dogs. We're just not
sure on that yet. If you're interested in Romeo, please read our requirements and fill out an
application. Romeo's adoption donation will be $275.00. A Group Obedience class will be
required with this adoption and proof of attendance.

Ricci
Bentley

PENDING!!!Bentley has been living in a foster home for a couple of weeks now. He has not had
one potty accident, he has not chewed on anything inappropriate, he is very submissive and
playful with the other dogs in the house and he walks like a dream on a leash. He actually
prances like he's in the show ring. :o) He's in that gawky long legged stage of puppydom, but
he really is a handsome boy. He's very sweet and obedient too. This is an easy, young boxer
boy!! He's ready for his Forever Home.
end update............................................................................................................................................
Bentley is a six month old classic brindle male with natural ears and a cropped tail. We do have
his papers to show his lineage, but they will be voided since we have had him neutered. He is
neutered, vaccinated, on heartworm preventative, wormed and in good health. He is healing
from a couple of fairly large sores on one side of his body. I'm not sure if he got close to a
moving vehicle, or if he injured himself trying to get out of an enclosure. He is healing nicely.
Bentley is a little timid at first, but with time will open up into his true boxer puppy personality.
He has had little training, and I believe this is why he ended up in a shelter. With a lot of love, a
little bit of training, this will be your dream boxer. He is as sweet as they come and quite
handsome for being in the middle of his gawky stage. His coloring is very pretty, he could use a
few more pounds, but other than that, he should thrive in a loving home.
This little guy will not last long in rescue. I would advise that you get through the approval
process so you are added to the application pool for Bentley. As with all of our boxers, we
choose the family that we feel is best suited for each boxer. He will need commitment, and a
required round of group obedience. We'll need proof of this class within 60 days of his
adoption. Bentley's adoption donation is $275.00. Please fill out an application if you are
interested in meeting Bentley.

Lexi is an adorable nine month old classic fawn female with natural ears and a cropped tail. She
is a friendly young boxer girl that loves everyone!! She has lived with small children, although it
would probably be best if the kids were over six, just because she is a puppy. Lexi has also
lived with dogs and a cat. She appears to be happy with any living creature.
Lexi is house trained, will be crated trained and is not too bad on a leash. We will require a
group obedience class with this adoption, just to ensure that Lexi receives the basic obedience
training that will benefit her. Right now, the only puppy behavior she has demonstrated is
chewing. She will require plenty of toys to keep her occupied and focused on her stuff and not
her family's items. Crate training will be necessary to keep her out of mischief while her family is
not in the house to keep an eye on her.
If you are interested in Lexi, I would urge you to complete the approval process right away.
Please read our adoption requirements and then fill out an application. Lexi's adoption donation
will be $275.00.
